DYNAMIC REPLACEMENT – fast improvement of subsoil with thickness up to 6 meters
This technology enables fast and effective improvement of organic soils, saturated cohesive soils and man-made grounds (e.g. waste disposal areas).
In this technology, aggregate columns are dynamically formed using specially shaped tampers, constructed according to Professor Maciej Gryczmański’s design. This tamper weighs 8-12 tons and is dropped in a free fall from 10-15 m above the site where the column is to be formed. A crater is formed which is later gradually filled with coarse granular material. Aggregate material may include sand, gravel, quarry-run rock, concrete debris or blast furnace slag. As a result a large diameter column of 1,4 to 2,5 m is formed.
UNIQUE, SPECIAL BARREL-LIKE SHAPE OF THE TAMPER ENABLES LATERAL EXPANSION OF THE COLUMN, WHICH ACCELARATES CONSOLIDATION AND IMPROVES MECHANICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF SOIL BETWEEN THE COLUMNS. A SINGLE OR DOUBLE TAMPER RELEASER IS MOUNTED ON THE UPPER PART OF THE TAMPER. THE DESIGN OF TAMPER RELEASER IS PROTECTED BY OUR PATENT.
Polbud-Pomorze Ltd. also employs surface dynamic compaction technology. This improvement technique utilizes repeated applications of the impact delivered by a special, flat tamper, weighing 12 tons, free falling from heights of 5-10 m.
